Buy great quality free-range meat
We believe in giving everything a free-range lifestyle. Here on our smallholding, we respect the animals we rear and give them the quality of life they deserve. All our livestock are reared outdoors, in natural conditions; they graze at leisure, eating and growing at their own speed, without the aid of artificial growth-promoters.
We rear animals on a small scale through choice; Gerry and I have never
wanted to be large-scale intensive farmers, because quality, not quantity, has
always been our aim. We may lose money through this philosophy, but what matters
to us is that we produce great quality meat in a n animal-friendly way. There
are better ways of making more money out of this kind of business - and of
reducing the price passed on to the customer - but at what cost to the
livestock?
We take orders all year round for pure-bred Tamworth and wild boar-cross pork, which we sell in half or quarter boxes. We normally have grass-fed lamb (no concentrates - just good, Welsh grass) available around October to November, and traditional bronze turkeys for Christmas. Because we work in small numbers, ordering is essential. If there is something special you require (e.g. Christmas geese, guinea fowl, rose veal), we can normally arrange something, or, at the very worst, point you in the direction of someone who can help.
